About Coaching and Consulting
Our story all began with an idea. I wanted to turn a passion into something more.
All-too-often, energetic, enthusiastic midwives leave private practice due to burnout and financial constraints. We want to change that. Our mission is to empower midwives to thrive in their practices through powerful and insightful business coaching and consulting. Say goodbye to burnout and hello to sustainable success with our support.
Business Consulting and Coaching is about your business. It’s not clinical coaching … as an endorsed midwife, you’ve got that side down pat! But midwives with strong clinical skills can often find the day-to-day realities of managing the business side of their private practice to be really challenging. We think we can help.
I’ve always believed that nobody knows your business and your practice better than you, but sometimes you need an independent set of eyes to help you peel back the layers and the complexity of what you’re facing to finally reveal the best solution for you and for your practice. We help you find clarity and confidence.
Coaching
Coaching helps you to determine goals that match your potential, create a realistic plan to achieve those goals and ensure accountability. A coach offers insight, but the primary purpose is to empower you to create the business of your dreams. Coaching helps with:
Time management
Identifying and setting realistic goals
Working through an action plan
Resilience and maintaining motivation even in the face of difficulties
Accountability
Brainstorming
Clarity
Fear
Implementation
Overwhelm and burnout
Purpose and vision
Mentoring, on the other hand, is where the mentor acts as a guide and offers up their own experiences, insights and guidance to help you develop professionally. Coaching is different: it helps you to reach within to find the answers. I offer coaching because generally … nobody knows your business and your practice better than you and each business is unique.
Consulting
Consulting brings in the expertise of the consultant. A consultant offers information, brainstorming and options based on expertise and analysis. Consulting might help with:
Analysis and synthesis of data and research to inform decisions
Helping you to understand the fundamentals of business planning and success
Business marketing skills
Business process review and re-design
Determining financial viability, break-even point and profitability
Business planning & strategy
Service offerings and pricing
Direction of the business
SEO
Solving problems that require advice and expertise
Make it
Uniquely qualified as a midwife with a Master of Business Administration, I use both coaching and consulting to give you the best of both worlds. Whether we take a consulting approach or a coaching approach, the objective is help you have the most sustainable and rewarding practice possible. Not only do we want you to survive in your practice, we also want you to thrive, because after-all, we work to live. We do this by tapping into your own resources and resourcefulness; sharing powerful insights honed through years of experience; connecting with vast knowledge and skill developed through MBA-level study; and through listening, reflecting and thoughtful enquiry.
